A safe deposit box, also known as a "safety deposit box," is a type of safe located inside the bank. Boxes can be used to store items of importance such as wills, deeds, jewelry, etc. Your safe deposit box can only be accessed by you during regular bank hours. Access is granted through a dual-lock system using a key which is issued to you when you first open a safe deposit box and a master key held securely by the bank. Bank staff can not access your box without your presence and key.
